EL Mirage Opening Season

It was my first time at El Mirage but not my last. I helped out my boys Hollywood and Dan de la Chop race their 73 BMW R100. In our camp was Donnie Angel brother of legend Sonny Angel. He was racing a customers Norton Commando. There was so much to witness out on the dry lake bed. You had low end to very deep pocket race machinery out there. In the whole scheme of things you can feel the love and passion of HOT Rodding. After a morning of land speed racing there was a whole afternoon of either tuning, drinking beer, bar-b-queuing and shooting the breeze.

First Run on the BMW: 106.41mph

Second Run: 107.8mph

NASTY CITY, California

I stopped by the National City Motorcycle shop before I headed to El Mirage dry lake bed for opening season. I needed to pick up some parts and say what up to my boy NSR John. The shop redid there shop a little bit. Rob, the owner of the shop has a amazing collection of vintage Jap bikes.

B.J Penn

I was pretty upset with BJ's loss against Frankie Edgar on Saturday. You can never leave it up to the judges. Edgar looked pretty busy and his cardio was on point that night. BJ will get the belt back soon.

Can you say PLAID OUT?

Do you think the whole flannel plaid is getting out of control? I have to admit that I'm a victim of it but at the same time I'm still wearing the same plaid I wore in the 90's. Everyday we see hipsters, fixie crowd, bikers, teenie boppers, thugs, rockabilly, etc. all rockin the plaid. I don't know where I'm going with this, it's just a observation. What's going to be next? Hawaiian shirts!
