North Parks own Little Hurricane's Strong Wind, Slow Tour
Little Hurricane is roaring back into town with a new album after four months on a “slow tour.” The idea was to spend time in several major cities, getting to know the scene and forming relationships with locals. So far, the tour has seen the boy-girl duo recording and performing their infectious blues rock through custom suitcase amps on a stage ornamented with lamps and living room furniture in Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz. Before heading home, Little Hurricane plans to play three showcases at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas, and a bar in Phoenix

Ban On Plastic Shopping Bags
A ban on plastic shopping bags has gone into effect in the city of Santa Monica, CA, impacting shoppers at supermarkets, convenience and liquor stores, as well as pharmacies. City officials say enforcement of the ban won’t begin until September 1, allowing for a six-month grace period before penalties are levied. Fines will start at $75 per violation, with criminal prosecution possible for repeat offenders.
When is San Diego going to adopt this law. I'd like to start an initiative in communities within San Diego and see if it can spread throughout. For example, I can influence North Park to be the kick off community that embraces the ban of plastic shopping bags. What do you think?

Like I said...America's Fine Beer
I'm very excited about these heritage cans that were released. Im a huge fan and have been criticized of enjoying the Banquet beer. I stay true and classy. It also reminds me of my Dad when I was young.
I went to McGregors in East Mission Valley for happy hour after a long day at the office. I asked the bartender if she carried Coors banquet. She looked a me with confusion and replied "this ain't East County".
I thought to myself your bar is East of the I freakin 15. Your basically East County and how can you carry Coors Light and not Coors Banquet. They carried Budweiser and Budlight. I'm sure they have Coke and Diet Coke. Why can't they carry The Banquet. Losers! No.. I take that back. More for me.
Hipster and wannabe hipsters can have all the PBR they want. At the end I stick to my roots and America.

Pickle Back - LA Times Magazine
Pickled products have been served with spirits through the generations—as vodka chasers in Poland and in dirty martinis everywhere—but this latest craze comes out of New York. That the Pickle Back is a two-fisted combo of Jameson Irish whiskey (already the service-industry worker’s—read: bartender’s—favorite shot) and a pickle-juice chaser makes it a contender for a St. Patty’s Day potable. Transported to the West Coast, the Pickle Back gets local flavor at Casey’s Irish Pub downtown and at Quality Social in San Diego, where bartenders even prepare homemade brine.
• 1 shot Jameson Irish Whiskey
• 1 shot chilled unstrained pickle brine
Take the shot of Jameson and follow with the pickle juice. Then question your decision
I was introduced to this a couple of years ago. Two great flavors coming together . One of my favorite shots for sure.

Something to Say About Todays Youth
Handmade Portraits: Liberty Vintage Motorcycles from Etsy on Vimeo.
I can relate to what this man is saying. There was a time when I tried to influence inner city kids who hung out near my garage that opened up on an alley. They always wanted a handout. Also, didn't know the difference between a philips and flathead screw driver let alone put wrenches in order from big to small.
Who knows maybe I did influence them in some way. Maybe they will look back and remember everytime they see a vintage bike or chopper they will think of my garage. Tell then, our youth is doomed.

Inspirational one legged Surfer
None of us should have any excuses for not doing anything challenging. By the way, he surfs better then a lot of people I see out in the water with two legs.
